I hope you have an uncomplicated pregnancy and an easy delivery of a very healthy baby. Second -- meat cravings usually indicate a need for a bit more protein, salt, iron and other things meat provide -- take a look at what meat would normally provide and get it thru other sources and your cravings for it should go away. When I was pregnant I craved watermelon. Ate a 20# watermelon every day for 3 months. Could not tolerate the smell of fish or anything fried. In fact I knew I was pregnant the instant I dropped an egg into the skillet and promptly threw up. After that we had oatmeal, farina and cornmeal mush for breakfast. Nothing was fried. Guest guest
Congratulations! I couldn't stand the smell of cabbage or any of the other vegetables commonly eaten down south when I was expecting the first. I lived on rice with the first, tomato sandwiches with the second, Italian club subs (pre-Subway sandwich era) with the third and pizza with the fourth. Got spayed after the fourth. But I agree, your body is telling you that you need protein, which you CAN get from a vegetarian diet. You just need to find something you can get your nose past. Maybe if someone else cooks the food away from your home and you heat it up at your place. There are still restaurants I go by that make me sick to smell. (all the chicken places - ick!) Ginger tea and saltine crackers, kiddo. Make the tea with real ginger and if you don't like it hot, try it iced. Hang in there, Jeanne in GA
Guest guest
I am pretty sure it's the iron. I have had problems since Darian (my youngest) with anemia. ~Tee <<<<Second -- meat cravings usually indicate a need for a bit more protein, salt, iron and other things meat provide -- take a look at what meat would normally provide and get it thru other sources and your cravings for it should go away.>>>>
Guest guest
Thinking this is my last (number 4) as well for health reasons after the way I was with Darian. It's getting my nose past things. The smells of cooking are making me sick. As for ginger tea - I LOVE it and keep a root at all times. Sometimes I just like to scrape it and smell it. I went to store today to get an aquarium for the kids (David got a frog from school and Darian pitched a fit he wanted a fish " pish " so I got him a small one gallon tank. lol) I got all my vitamins and such, but completely forgot the saltine crackers! That was one of the things I went for in the first place. lol I do know I have anemia so the iron thing is a big issue for me right off the bat. I'm craving pop as well something horrible which is not cool. On the plus side I'm also craving grapefruit! lol ~Tee
