I've read about your experiences quitting and how difficult it was for you.  I

work in an alcohol/drug rehab and many staff who are in recovery have said that

quitting smoking was the hardest thing they ever did...worse than giving up any

other addiction.  Believe it or not, the psychological factor would be harder

for me than the actual nicotine craving.  I can't smoke anywhwere at work (have

to leave the property) and have gone an entire day without smoking without going

bonkers.  Anyone who smokes knows it's all about...the cigarette when you pick

up the phone, sit down at the computer, after a meal, with a cup of coffee, when

you get in the car, etc.  When my mom was 70 she decided that was it, she put

down her cigarettes and never picked one up again.  As you said, when you're

ready, and only then, will it work.

I think there was a new tax put on cigarettes (it may even start

today). . . something like $6.50 per carton.

I am for anything that will help induce people to quit smoking and will keep

young

kids from starting. I have lost both parents, aunts and uncles to tobacco

and

have a 40 year old son-in-law who has had bladder cancer due to smoking......I

hate

cigarettes..........period and forever.
