Guest guest
I want to soak them overnight but it says oversoaking causes skins to split. Is this true for all types of beans? I usually sleep at least 8 hours a night so by the time I am dressed, showered, exercise, etc it will be 10 or more. And after soaking beans do they have to be cooked immediently? Guest guest
Different beans soak differently. I have never had chickpeas, black beans or pintos split significantly (a few but not a lot) after soaking overnight (approx 7 - 10 hrs). Mayacopas (yellow beans) seem more fragile & split after soaking long time. And you do not have to cook immediately. I sometime freeze soaked beans without cooking planning to cook & spice them later and they come out fine. hth Peace, Diane , " pierce407720032003 " <sacornelius wrote: > > I want to soak them overnight but it says oversoaking causes skins to split. > > Is this true for all types of beans?
