Guest guest
Is it possible they have a " smoked sausage " flavor??? I don't mind some spiciness, but I have just PINED for a smoked veg. sausage! I have not seen this brand anywhere, but it may be possible to find at a health food store I go to in Springfield or the Whole Foods in St. Louis. I'd be delighted to find a sausage with a " smoky " flavor. Of course, I do agree that an ITALIAN sausage does need to be spicy--and fennel is one of the flavors that " make it " , IMHO! Cheers! --Laura B., in Illinois Well, having had the good fortune over the years (pre veggie days) of eating fantastic Italian sausage from Jersey and NY, this can't even come close. ?They're good, but taste nothing like Italian sausage. ? ?They're quite large and the texture is good (not rubbery), but have a smokey flavor...more like a spicy hot dog which will work for me when I'm in a hot dog mood. Fennel seeds, folks at Yves, you forgot the fennel seeds. ?I guess some things just can't be duplicated.
Guest guest
I love both but favor the Tofurkey ones a little more. They don't taste smokey nor anything loike a hot dog to me. Just that good old Italian sausage flavor without the grease. I make a very good lasagna and take to the potluck at work a few times a year. It's gone before I get a serving. Sue , " L.B.
