Guest guest
I thought something was up and not quite right. I have always loved the organic (ORGANIC!) Silk brand soy-milks, and suddenly, I noticed that the carton, with all the SAME colors and pictures and wording as the " organic " cartons had had--suddenly was only calling itself, " Natural " soymilk, NOT organic, and the actual, so-called " organic " Silk soy-milk is now the one with the GREEN label... in other words, a person has to be alert and LOOK for a DIFFERENT carton, because the NOT organic soy-milk is in the one that looks just like the organic one USED to! (I called the company and complained, but it didn't do any good.) So, the " natural " (probably pesticide-sprayed) soybean source is from China and it's probably cheap stuff. That really BUGS ME! I don't have the energy or the desire to make my OWN soy-milk, and besides that, I want something with CALCIUM added to it, which most commercial soy-milks have. I have just gone around (the 30-mile radius), looking for another brand or a store that actually still carries the Silk ORGANIC soy milks. AND, I've NOT seen the organic Chocolate Silk at all since this came to my attention about the changes in the stuff. BUMMER!! --Still steaming about it all! --Laura B., in Illinois Read somewhere that the Silk Soy as an example is being made from soy beans from China that are heavily pesticide grown. Guest guest
This is disappointing to hear about the Silk soy milk as that is the one I buy (the omega one). I hate the new packaging for this one I buy, it's ugly and makes the product sound less appealing to me. Anyone know if 8th continent brand is made better? It seems they are all now using so many fillers and junk in them. Use to just say: 'soy, water' on the labels and now we get this; carrageenan, xanthan gum, etc -mouse
