I also looked at the juicers in the store and I wasn't happy with the plastic casings on most of them. I did have one problem with the juicer. That was carrot pulp in the screen. It got so thick that I was getting really thick yucky juice, even though I cleaned the screen well after each use. So, I emailed the company about my problem. A rep. emailed me right back and said if brushing it with a toothbrush or the brush that came with the juicer, to soak it in 1/2 water and 1/2 clorox. (yeah, I know) The pulp was gone! I have only had to do this once and I have had the juicer for over a year. The only other juicer I have owned is the Juice Man juicer that used to be advertised on tv. We went through that motor in no time. The LaLanne juicer has a much better motor. I would like to get the Cadillac of motor-juicers when this one is finally done, possibly a Breville if it is available at the time. Years ago we were downtown Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and stopped by one of the juice bars/stores. This thing they had was a Monster! You could fit your whole kitchen sink in this thing. I am happy with juicing. It is one of the few veggie things my husband is excited about.
