Guest guest
Me, too. Me, too! But here in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, WA we got 10 " of heavy, wet snow overnight (at least one broken blueberry branch) and the veggie garden looks like the frozen north! But the greenhouse is full of plantlings just waiting to get outside, if spring ever really arrives. We continue to eat lots of overwintered chard and beet greens from the greenhouse and the spinach I planted in there in Februrary is s-l- o-w-l-y getting bigger. Come on, sunshine! ~ irene ps -- Roseta, mushrooms. There is a fantastically knowledgeable mycologist (is that the word I'm looking for?) west of us in Olympia, WA. <http://www.fungi.com/index.html> Mushrooms grow abundantly in our area so I think this is the year that I plant a mushroom patch. We also have lots of alder trees that are good for growing plugs of shitake. > We grow all our fruits an veggies in southern California, as well > as all the herbs. Still buying mushrooms. Guest guest
Thanks, Audrey. Actually, even though the snow was a somewhat unpleasant surprise, everything looked so beautiful this morning when the sun came out (briefly!) and sent sparkles everywhere. ~ irene > Sorry to hear about your snow, Irene.
