Guest guest Posted May 13, 2009 Report Share Posted May 13, 2009 Garlic Lover's Pizza Sauce 3 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 cup onion, minced 1/2 green pepper, minced 3 garlic, cloves, large, minced 1 1/2 cups water 6 ozs. tomato paste 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried 1 teaspoon parsley, dried salt, to taste pepper, to taste Pour the oil into a deep, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and green pepper then cook and stir for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and continue to cook, stirring, until the vegetables are tender. Add the water and then stir in the tomato paste. Sprinkle the sauce with the basil, oregano, and parsley. Lower the heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Add the salt and pepper to taste. If desired, add 2 to 3 dashes of hot pepper sauce. Let simmer, stirring often, about 30 minutes or until the sauce if very thick. Makes about 3 cups of sauce.
