Lexa, the answer is ... very carefully. Here it is:

I grow my own garlic and the cloves are really big, so I'm able to

reduce most of the garlic to paste and then chop up the little

remaining sliver. Ginger is easier, lemons and oranges are a breeze.

You can use the rasp/microplane for chocolate and hard cheese, and I

guess if you really wanted to you could round off the corners of your

cutting board, too.
