Guest guest Posted April 29, 2009 Report Share Posted April 29, 2009 Lemon-Basil Green Beans 1 pound green beans 1 tablespoon butter 1 1/2 teaspoons freshly grated lemon peel 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/4 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook green beans 5 to 6 minutes until barely tender. Drain into a collander. In the same pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add green beans, lemon zest, salt and pepper; stir to coat. Remove from heat. Toss with basil and serve immediately. Makes 4 servings. Calories 48, Fat 2.5 g,Carbs 6 g, Sodium 169 mg, Fiber 2.5 g.
