Guest guest
Oh I detested these growing up! lol However, when I retasted them at 30 I feel head over heels in love! I have only had them boiled in extremely salted water. That taste came from a flea market in Tallahasse FL, there at the flea market. I tasted one of my Dad's and went back for some of my own. He just laughed at me. I now eat them whenever I can. We have a local family that sets up on the corner of main street and cobbsford (the road my mom lives on) and I get them there whenever I see them out. They have a spicy cajun version that I haven't dared try yet. The ol' tummy ain't what she used to be. lol I just love hitting all the mom and pop fruit and veggie stands down here in the south. There is one up the road in Clanton that the peach (pick your own and they ship world wide) people have where you can get homemade peach ice cream, boiled peanuts, anything and everything peaches as well as all manner of local produce and local specialiaties. One of my favorites is the local raw honey with the comb still in. (I like chewing on the wax.) You can also get locally ground grits from a nearby watermill, as well as cornmeal, and I think oatmeal but won't swear to that one. I love my life! Nothing like a sweet juicy ripe peach dripping juice down your chin on a hot summer day...YUM! ~Tee
