Guest guest
Hi everyone, I live on the south coast of Oregon--five acres, angora buns (I spin their wool), free range chickens, one golden retreiver and lots of singing canaries--oh yeah, one cat. I had ovarian cancer almost three years ago...actually something in me had cancer, I didn't. I started eating vegetarian after the surgery. I cook rice/beans/noodles but most of the time I eat everything raw-- because I prefer my food raw and I'm too lazy to cook somedays, lol. Summer months I'm in the flower and veggie garden so I don't always feel like cooking. At the old place (I've been here three years) I raised most of my veggies, had three fruit orchards, lots of wild berries here in Oregon. I enjoy making jams and jellies. My bottom line is I like to know where my food comes from--when I grow it I know where it comes from. My farm is organic-- no herbicides or pesticides. I don't rototil, I strip mulch when preparing new garden beds. So I'm working on the veggie garden--raised beds, lots of compost--tomatoes are in a green house that really heats up. That's the only way to get them to ripen when you live close to the coast. I'm looking forward to reading your emails and recipes. I like to make bread and homemade pasta. I bought a new book last month on Artisan bread--yum. Jaylee Dragonfly Creek Farm Oregon
