Guest guest
Tonite I went to a Sicily Italian chain restaurant in LA to relax w/a glass of wine in a huge mall in West LA. I did not expect anything special. The lovely lady that came to our table, who was raised by vegetarians, told us the company is testing a new menu of 6 vegan dishes made with soy protein. We ordered the " mock " chicken piccatta, which was served over sauteed spinach, w/lemon, capers, Italian parsley & acini di pepi. THe food was AWESOME. I am picky. The oil was fresh, the Italian parsley was crunchy, fresh lemon juice, capers, and the " mock " chicken " was perfect. Acini di pepi al dente. Perfect. BTW, the friend I dined with eats chicken & beef..rarely...but not a vegetarian. She was astounded. Amazing hot herbed bread rolled into small loaves w/olive oil & balsamic & a great appetizer Caesar salad w/o anchovies. If you are " vegetarian " vs vegan, they provide fresh grated parmesan cheese if you like. Mock Chicken Piccata was $15. The Caesar salad was $6.50. Really delicious. They also offer mock Chicken Marsala...well.. I was amazed.
