Guest guest
Hi Cyndy, I found this site really helpful with detailed reviews of most of the major brands of soymilk makers: http://www.soya.be/soy-milk-maker.php Also there is much about how the machines work, recipes and soymilk making. I think you can google or follow links to the homesites of many of the soymilk machine manufacturers for a lot of info regarding making bean milks and using the okara, too. The case was that the SoyaJoy/SoyaPower machines were running most other competitors out of the market. Their newest (and most expensive) model looks like it may be much easier to clean, since it uses a secondary filter rather than holding the beans closed in a cage. I bought a Soywonder machine new on ebay for around $80. It's had good write-ups on Pleasant-Hills grain where they sell it for $160. But it does have the faults listed in its review -- of being a little harder to clean and with a dumber processor that makes you pre-heat the water to get the temperature right to avoid beany taste and scorched soy schmooze on the heating element of the machine. But it is a solid and very reliable machine that could last a very long time, if not forever, and has the advantage of making a larger capacity of milk, more than two liters, which I really like to have for large batches of yogurt.
