Guest guest
Aaahhh pinch him with the pliers like my sister would do me after I hit her growing up. That will bring him down lol Donna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry " mojoeriley " <mojoeriley Tue, 30 Dec 2008 23:22:54 What should I eat while this week before I box my brother? This might be something someone could really hook me up on. Me and my older brother go to a boxing gym. Every Monday you can challenge someone who is ranked higher than you. I challenged him in front of everyone Monday. I beat him wrestling one day and ever since have kind of wondered if I could take him. He teases me about being vegan and the coach even says I should eat lots of meat and protein to be a good fighter. I know that it will show a few people that vegans are'nt just weak, frail wimps if I do good. Besides, I just think it would be so cool to beat him fair and square even though he is taller and older. What should I eat for the next few days that would give me a lot of energy?
Guest guest
Pasta. Pasta. Pasta. Did I say Pasta? I don't know anything, but I saw this on the Tennis Channel. They interviewed all the top players in the world as to what they eat before matches. Then they cut the answers together and it is funny to watch. Q: What do you eat the day before a match? " A: Nadal " pasta " A: Federer " pasta " A: Roddick " pasta " A: Murray " pasta " A: Blake " pasta " A: Williams, V. " pasta " A; Williams, S. " pasta " Etcetera. All of them said, " Pasta. A bit of cheese only. No sauce. " In the few days before matches, eat as much as you can of tofu and beans as you can fit into your stomach. Any kind of beans. Carbo loading all the way. The tennis players also all bring bananas, protein bars, bottled cold and room temperature water to the court. Nadal snips a plastic thing like a ketchup packet, that is liquid protein & vitamins. He slurps the whole package 2 minutes every single time before he hits any court in the world. I am not a pro athlete, but am fascinated by their diet comments on TV! Good luck! --- On Tue, 12/30/08, mojoeriley <mojoeriley wrote: > mojoeriley <mojoeriley > What should I eat while this week before I box my brother? > > Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 3:22 PM > This might be something someone could really hook me up on. > Me and my older brother go to a boxing gym. Guest guest
Yes, please let us know if the tennis pasta fest worked! Ducking is good, too, but not vegan :) [more 3 stooges humor here] --- On Tue, 12/30/08, mojoeriley <mojoeriley wrote: > mojoeriley <mojoeriley > Re: What should I eat while this week before I box my brother? > > Tuesday, December 30, 2008, 8:39 PM > --- Hey, thanks a lot, really. That sounds like a good plan. > I'll let > you know if it worked, along with ducking. Guest guest
Bother makes me wish I had kept my latest copy of the Vegetarian magazine! (Once I have read it and copied any recipes I want I pass it onto another friend who is even shorter on money than I am!), in there they interviewed various people who you wouldn't think were veggie - one was a boxer, another a fire fighter and BOTH said they felt they had more energy and could do more since giving up .. you know what! Guest guest
What you need to eat is more mental than physical. They have been feeding you loads of crap ideas (please excuse my rural " French " ), especially with the " coach " in the role of expert and leader, such that you can be beaten even if you do eat the best/right foods. (I'm not saying disrespect your coach, but it will help to take the coach out of the " knows-all-and-knows-best " category in your mind.) Know that you can and WILL win and you will. Set that in your mind while you are eating the healthier foods, knowing the energy balance from your healthy foods will give you the stamina and energy to win. Don't overcome the mental images they've been impounding in your psyche and it won't happen. + John - mojoeriley Tuesday, December 30, 2008 5:22 PM What should I eat while this week before I box my brother?
