Guest guest
I always soak. The flash boil method doesn't always work for me so I gave up on it. Pintoes & chickpeas I soak overnight in the crockpot, change the water in the morning and leave them on low all day. Smaller beans like black beans I soak all day & then cook when I get home; they don't take long once they're soaked. I make extra and freeze them so they're on hand. Sometimes if the beans are old, even with soaking they'll turn out crunchy. hth, Peace, Diane , Deanne Campbell <deanne757 wrote: > > Hello! > > I flash boiled dried black beans following the direction on the bag to use with the ffabulous black bean and rice recipe I got from here... but the beans were crunchy. I timed everything correctly. Is it better to soak overnight? > > Thanks, > Deanne > > > > >
