Guest guest
Awww, Donna! So sweet! My vet has been treating my birds (and dogs and cats) since I was 12. Nobody in my area does bird emergencies anymore, and he certainly doesn't do emergencies of any kind (he's close to retirement, too soon in my opinion!) but he told me to call him anytime I had a bird emergency. The really good ones care and can tell that we care, too, about all animals. My tortoiseshell Myrtle thinks a trip to the vet is a great social event, enjoying investigating the exam room (especially the sink), letting everyone pet her and talk to her, and she even follows the conversation between me, the vet and the tech with great interest, looking at each face intently while the person talks -- until the shots. She seems to take a needle in her hip is a particularly rude insult, especially because she behaves so well there! After that she is more than ready to go home, she goes right into the carrier.
