Guest guest
Cassie, Hi, I don¹t have any lesson plans really. But I do have a friend who is a teacher helping me. If you know anyone who does scrapbooking ask them to come and work with the children. And, just use the theme organic/vegetarian. Use recycled materials as much as possible, cardboard, yarns (I¹m a weaver; therefore, I¹m taking all my non-matching placemats.), old wallpaper samples, magazines, etc. If you have a local organic gardener in your area ask he/she to come and talk to the kids, and get little planters with seeds and soil and let them plant something. We are doing some questions and handouts as well and then showing a fun movie that has to do somewhat with the theme. There are questions on Whole Foods¹s site. We are choosing and picking for the age group. We will see how this one goes. Someone just asked if we could do the same for the Girl Scouts. I plan on taking pictures and writing an article for our website and the newspaper. Jerri I would love to get your lesson plans for this and maybe do it next week with my students. Since it is the end of the year, I am looking for more " out of the box " plans to keep them engaged. Thanks for the head's up on the week.
