Guest guest
You would probably do better on a Weight Watchers diet plan where your food is measured out, just make it vegetarian, sub their non-veg products with veg burgers, etc. Sorry to bust your bubble but being vegetarian is a lifestyle not a weight loss diet and you can be an unhealthy vegetarian if you don't watch what you eat. We aren't a diet or health group. You didn;t get in this condition overnight and it is going to be a lot of hard work and dedication on your part. Eating out? That will be hard, because you have no idea how much oil, sodium, preservatives and things go into their food, very hard to count any calories if you plan on eating out. Please browse our recipe files, they are huge and their are many recipes for you to enjoy. Donna Remember potato chips, cookies, soda, and lots of candy are vegetarian. --- On Sat, 6/20/09, Gary <aintnospamforme-1 wrote: Gary <aintnospamforme-1 Newbee here! Saturday, June 20, 2009, 5:19 AM hello, My name is Gary and I am 59.5 years old. I am fat, out of shape, with high cholesterol, hbp, etc. I don't like drugs, hospitals or doctors. But I realize that I must lead a healther lifestyle. I want my 60's to be healthier than my 50's if possible. I have been a heavy meat eater my whole life. I am also a compulsive overeater. Going vegetarian will not be easy for me but I am going to give it a shot and see what happens. I think the hardest part will be going out to restaurants. I live in a small town in upstate NY that is not very sophisticated. The closest town with vegetarian restaurants and a vegetarian mind set is Ithaca. It is about 35 miles from here. In any event, i may need your advice and will probably have many questions as times goes on. WISH ME LUCK! Gary
