Guest guest
Audrey, Hooray for you figuring out the gravy problem . That is usually the way all good recipes come about. I love to make all types of gravy and was taught the basics many years ago by a dear elder person. There is no limit to the types and flavors of gravy and it is fun to experiment. Many people no longer make sauces/gravy and in my opinion it often makes a blah recipe turn into a very interesting one. Sometimes placing the sauce/gravy under the main food item instead of covering it is a more attractive way of serving it. I try to write down my experiments as I go along just in case I want to compare later on. That way when you have a success like your gravy you will be able to enjoy that recipe again. Keep up the good work Deanna in Colorado ********************************************************************* Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird wrote: ...... messed around and made up my own gravy. Guest guest
Yes, someone definitely has to teach you how to make and thicken gravy, I don't think that's something you can learn from a cookbook! I don't think many people know how to make gravy -- most of my friends don't. My mom and grandma taught me how to make fried chicken gravy growing up -- now I make cream gravy with just butter, onions, milk, and plenty of white pepper! Cream gravy is what I'm best at, but this turned out pretty good. I will improve! Audrey S.
