Keep them in the freezer so they stay fresh. Donna The seed is in bloom, will it meet an early doom or survive in a tranquil sea? Does it face an early end, will it find a real friend, should it be called humanity? Will creation of man bring death by his hand or will life be his destiny? Monday, February 23, 2009, 5:15 PM I've been thinking of introducing some ground flax seed to my diet because I recently had jaw surgery and can't obtain the same benefits from nuts just yet. I used to get an organic oatmeal that had whole flax seeds in it and it was REALLY good-- then, of course, they discontinued it. My question is, if I grind the flax seeds to mix with something like oatmeal, will they have a bitter flavor? The whole seeds tasted pretty good, but I read that ground seeds are a lot better for you. I'm just wondering if it will be like grinding a pill-- tolerable when whole, gag-inducing when crushed. Thanks!!
