I just got " The TVP Cookbook " by Dorothy R. Bates in the mail yesterday --

from paperbackswap.com. It's a tiny little paperback and it's kinda old

(1991) but it was free and it looks like it's got very basic recipes in it,

ways to season TVP. I love TVP taco salad, but I'm going to burn myself out

on it one of these days! So far all I've had is the granules, (the kind that

look like Grape Nuts when dry), but this cookbook also has recipes calling

for chunks, which I'll have to look for next time I'm someplace that has

those things. Good protein and lots cheaper than meat substitutes. I can

probably get it cheaper in larger quantities, but I just bought my second

bag, $2.99 for 11 servings.

I will report back on the good recipes I find! :)

PS - had to resort to cleaning out an upper cabinet tonight, in which to

store bread, hot dog buns and tortilla chips -- Matilda the tortoiseshell

kitty's bread-eating habit is getting out of control! Good thing she goes to

the vet next month, maybe there's something wrong...!
