Guest guest
Hi There Everyone! I read a call for a way to make tofu taste good and it reminded me of what I make sometimes for my friends who happen to be dining with me and have a tofu prejudice due to their past experiences with it. This is pretty much a never-fail winner! 1 Bottle of Soy-Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki sauce(I think Trader Joe's also has a knock-off of this) 1 package of extra-firm tofu, or firm (what you've got in the fridge) Slice the tofu into about 2 cm. widths. Place them on a foil-lined baking sheet or dish (I like the non-stick foil) Apply Soy-Vay sauce to the tops of each slice, covering well, but not letting much drip onto the foil (since it is sugary, it will burn) Place under broiler, watching carefully, until it starts to bubble and carmelize. Remove from broiler, flip tofu strips over, apply Soy-Vay sauce to other side, and stick back in broiler until that side bubbles and carmelizes. Watch that it doesn't burn! That's it! You're done! It is nice served over rice, but you can do what you like. Bon apetite!
