Guest guest
Hi! My name is April, I'm 33 years old, mother of a 5 year old, and a newlywed. We just celebrated our 1st Anniversary. We live on a small gulf island close to Vancouver Island on a 5 acre property and I'm growing my very first organic veggie garden this year. I got it in late, and the soil isn't the best, so it will be a surprise to see if I actually get anything out of it. LOL My parents and I were vegetarians until I was 8 years old and then they decided to start eating meat again so I was no longer a veg. In my late 20's I started really examining my diet, where my food comes from, etc, and started pursuing a whole foods organic diet. Over time I naturally started eating less and less meat. Last Thanksgiving we had a traditional turkey dinner at my parent's house, and that was it for me. I found I could no longer eat meat, and decided to become a vegetarian the next day. I have a few diet challenges. I'm allergic to soy, carrots and hazelnuts, and it seems like every vegetarian dish has either soy or carrots or both. My son also has some ana-allergies to nuts, so we keep a nut-free home. I'm not a huge fan of eggs and rarely eat them unless they are a baked ingredient in something. I have a couple blogs that address two major personal health issues I face: PCOS and Obesity. I don't know if I'm allowed to share links, so unless I get the go ahead, I won't post them here. Thanks!
