Guest guest Posted June 14, 2009 Report Share Posted June 14, 2009 good morning every one, i thought to share this site i found ....i will be making the aloo-palak one today..... http://homespices.blogspot.com/2007/01/aloo-palak.html This is a healthy recipe with the creamy spinach in it added with the rich starchy potatoes all blended with a variety of spices in it.Both are very easily avilable vegetables in any of your grocery stores and take very little time to prepare.Its a easy recipe and tastes simply superb. Aloo-palak Ingredients: _____________ Spinach - 1 bunch Potatoes - 2 large Onion - 1 large[1 cup puree] Tomato - 2 Garlic -3 cloves Ginger - 1 inch piece Pepper - 1/2 tsp Garam masala- 1tsp Chilly powder -1 tsp Turmeric powder- 1/s tsp green chillies -2 finely chopped Milk -1/4 cup sugar -1/2 tsp[optional] cumin -1 tsp Oil - 1 tsp Method: ________ 1.Wash, clean,chop finely a bunch of spinach 2.Then cook them with little salt and chilly powder for 5 mins untill they turn dark green.Then keep aside. Pressure cook all the potatoes ,chop them up into snall cubes and keep aside 3.Add onion,garlic,ginger and tomato to a blender and puree them all together. 4.Now take a large pan ,add 1tsp oil and cumin to it.Wait till it splutters.Then add this puree to it and fry till all the raw smell vanishes. 5.Then add turmeric powder ,chilly powder , garam masala,pepper to it.and fry for 3 mins.then add green chillies and then add the spinach to it and add the milk then add potatoes to it and cover and cook for 5 mins. 6.Now open the lid and cook for 5 more mins and then garnish with butter and serve hot with jeera rice or parata's.
