Guest guest
Hi Rosa, I can make good bread any which way now, by hand, with mixers, or with bread machines, particularly sourdoughs and whole grain (starting with the grain). But making bread from scratch can be an intimidating proposition for a new cook. The bread machine gives you structure and the semblance of help, when there's no one around to demonstrate really how simple it is. Also once you're experienced at bread-making it can be a convenience and a time saver to just measure out the ingredients and let them go. Put out on the patio in summertime, it helps keep the house cool, not needing to turn on the oven. So I like having the gadgets around, even if I don't always use them. (btw: I've also got some amaranth to eat, now(!).) Take care, Slim , " rosetalleo " <rosetalleo wrote: > > Not so surprising for me Slim. If I was to receive a bread machine as a gift, this is where it would end up.....I have been making bread by hand for 30 years and would have no use for a bread machine. I have tried them too, my brother used to have one and I have made bread with it. I much prefer bread made without the machine! Many folks are like me, which makes it really promising to get a good bread machine in working order! > Roseta <----- thinking I better start a bread dough today.... >
