This is quite OT but I know there are cat lovers in the group. Some of you will

remember that my cat Layla became diabetic about a year ago now and we still

struggling to get the diabetes under control with insulin injections. For the

last few months neuropathy has affected her back legs and she has been unable to

walk on her toes like normal cats and has been sleeping for most of the day and

rarely venturing off the bed. At her monthly check-up on Tuesday, the vet

suggested that I might try methylcobalamin B12 which people had reported

miraculous results with, although he himself was quite skeptical. I ordered them

off the internet immediately and they arrived the following day, so Layla has

been taking them since Wednesday. Last night she spent most of the night chasing

a mouse in my spare room. Normally this would distress me on a number of levels

- the cruelty to the mouse, the fact that I have mice in my apartment etc. But

last night I was really rejoicing because at the beginning of the week she would

not have had the energy to chase mice. She is still not walking up on her back

toes yet and I guess it may take a while for the neuropathy to clear up but this

is already a great improvement.

I have CFS so I'm thinking that maybe I should also start taking these tablets

in the hopes that they will give me more energy too. Just as long as the desire

to go mousing is not one of the side effects....
