Guest guest Posted August 20, 2009 Report Share Posted August 20, 2009 * Exported from MasterCook * Cabbage Stuffed With Tomatoes And Walnuts And Baked In A Cheese Sauce Recipe By : Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Course Veg & Nut Dishes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 outer leaves of cabbage (savoy -- primo or january king) 1 onion -- peeled and chopped 2 tablespoons olive oil 125 grams walnuts -- (4 oz) chopped 125 grams soft breadcrumbs -- (8 oz) 425 gram can tomatoes sea salt 50 grams grated cheese -- (2 oz) freshly ground black pepper CHEESE SAUCE MADE FROM : 25 grams butter -- (1 oz) 25 grams flour -- (1 oz) 275 milliliters milk -- (10 fl oz) 50 grams grated cheese Set oven to 190C (375F), gas mark 5. Put he cabbage leaves into a saucepan of boiling water for 2-3 minutes, until pliable. D rain well. Fry the onion in the oil for 10 minutes, add the nuts, breadcrumbs, tomatoes and seasoning. Divide mixture between the cabbage leaves, roll them up and place in a greased shallow dish. Cover with the sauce.
