Guest guest
The recipe calls for walnuts, I used almonds last time and it was good. Pine nuts are a bit expensive for me, but if I found some cheap ones thats what I would use for sure! -cort , Peter VV <swpgh01 wrote: > > Any reason why you use walnuts instead of pine nuts? > > Peter H > > > > > > massagesister <massagesister > > Tuesday, 6 November, 2007 7:23:22 PM > Pesto to Wales > > 1/2 cup toasted walnuts > 3 cups packed basil leaves > 3 cloves garlic, smashed > 1 1/2 teaspoons salt > 1/2 cup olive oil > 1/4 cup nutritional yeast > 2 teaspoons lemon juice > > throw everything except the olive oil into your food processor and > blend up....slowly drizzle in the oil until done!! > > yum! > > -cort > > > > > > _________ > Want ideas for reducing your carbon footprint? Guest guest
cheaper as in less expensive.....around these parts (the midwest far from any culture.....sigh) anything imported is expensive. I used to live on the west coast and could get pretty much any ingredient from any part of the world. I miss it, but am learning to be creative with what this area has to offer. ex. walnut pesto. -cort
