Guest guest
My birthday was yesterday, and we had a very vegan celebration. Not that I do a whole lot for a birthday. It's my 54th, so I've been around the block a few times. Hooplah gets stale after too many repetitions. So, basically, we had dinner and some cake. But one nice thing about living in Portland, Oregon,is its vegan friendliness. We went to Vege Thai, a mainly vegan/slightly vegetarian place. We had stir fried veggies with tempeh and a red curry with soy " chicken " strips. Then we swung by New Seasons market and went to the bakery department. There, we had 5 or 6 vegan cakes to choose from. We ended up getting two slices each. I had chantilly cake and carrot cake, both vegan and both incredibly delicious. Now that it's the day after, the New Year's resolutions kick in. This morning, it's soygurt, diced apple, and shredded wheat cereal, along with og, fair traded coffee and soysilk creamer. Why do people ask us what we eat, as if we must be starving? Doesn't this all sound yummy? Cheers, Trish
Guest guest
HI Trish Happy Birthday for yesterday. Vegan cakes certainly are very tasty :-) There is so much vegan food it makes me remember the boring meals we had when I was a meat-eater!
