We say that in english Vegan means only the vegan diet (no meat, no egg, no milk, no honey), but in french we got three words : - végétarien (no meat) - végétalien (no meat, no egg, no milk, no honey) - vegan (no meat, no egg, no milk, no honey, no experimentated products, no leather, no fur, no animal exploitation) could someone explain to me the meaning of Vegan and if he's another word that refers to the choice non exploiting animals (I think there's antispeciest, but maybe another ?) and of course : sorry for my hideous english written see you, troOn Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, I think that the vast majority of vegans avoid all products that are associated with animal exploitation. The few vegans I have come across who are not interested in animal welfare have merely adopted the vegan diet for health reasons. I always thought I'm a " végétalienn & #1077; " in French, but now I've found out that " je suis végane " . :-) I can't answer your question, since English is also not my native language. I do call myself vegan.
