Guest guest
Did anyone have pancakes for Pancake Day? On Saturday, we had gram flour pancakes filled with a broccoli curry mix. It was very nice. As we were busy at the weekend we didn't get time to do sweet pancakes though - have to have them another time. Jo

Guest guest
I fear that pancakery is going to be a little overdone in our neck of the woods.... we had our usual lot when spring arrived about a weak ago... then, yesterday, we discovered that Cafe Kino (our local, exceptionally good, vegan cafe) are doing "all you can eat pancakes"on Friday evening... and then Jo went and sent those recipes for chocolate and strawberry pancakes, so we can't ignore them!!!! Guest guest
Hi Fraggle I believe in the US, what you call pancakes is what in the UK we call "Scotch Pancakes". Our pancakes are much flatter than yours, and tend to have a bigger circumference! Guest guest
Pancakes here are a thinnish batter poured into hot fat in a frying pan, tossed to cook the other side. Flapjacks here are solid bars made with oats, syrup, sugar and fat. Guest guest
I've never made pancakes - the men in my family always like doing it (I think they like the skill of tossing :-) ) I think they make the batter like ordinary batter but without the egg, and soya milk instead of cow's milk.
