Make your own? Do without?A few years ago on one of the living-lightly forums, someone posted a "no poo" file about going without shampoo, IIRC using baking soda instead. Said it makes the hair softer after a while -- though it takes a while to wash out all the chems. Haven't tried it myself. At 11:34 PM +0000 3/6/08, llaci2003 wrote:>That's a sad commentary.>>Since when did healthy competition become a thing of the past?>Like you said, it's all about just a few manufacturers who want to>monopolize the entire business. Guest guest
what is in something like Dr Bronners that is too much for you?is it a skin allergy, chemical sensitivy issue, or something else? llaci2003 Mar 6, 2008 5:05 PM shampoo, was Re: another farm-bill boondoggle No I don't use any Organic shampoos. They are too potent.I still have some CA Baby shampoo (when they made it really mild). They went the way of P & G too.Speaking of a tail. I was referred to MANE `n TAIL shampoo. Jennifer Anniston uses it. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Confucius
Guest guest
interesting. i've never heard of anyone having issues with Bronners, but i guess it could happen to anyone for what its worth, Dr Bronners pride themselves on simple ingredients and all organic...i've toured their facilities, and they seem to really care about what goes into their products here's what is in their stuff(according to package and website) Organic Soaps & Ingredients Natural Bitter Almond Fragrance from Cassia Oil Our most delicious and warm scent. Ingredients: Water, Saponified Organic Coconut & Olive oils (w/ retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Natural Bitter Almond Fragrance, Citric Acid, Vitamin E llaci2003 Mar 7, 2008 10:21 AM shampoo, was Re: another farm-bill boondoggle Off hand I don't know what the ingredients are. But if it smells toxic(not sweet or fresh)and my tongue starts to burn, then I know my scalpshouldn't absorb it. Been there; done that.A dash of this or that doesn't necessary have to be listed. It can bemasked behind other ingredients. Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. Confucius
Guest guest
Everything I seem to have is RARE. So I'm not surprised you're surprised. Taking the ingredients as is: Ingredients: Water, Saponified Organic Coconut & Olive oils (w/ retained Glycerin), Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Natural Bitter Almond Fragrance, Citric Acid, Vitamin E the olive oils in shampoos are highly concentrated (I don't like the smell of it); but I can cook with olive oil; two totally different processes Jojoba oil also could be highly concentrated Natural Bitter Almond Fragrance can be another highly concentrated solution
