Guest guest
Don't mention squirrels. We have a new brood in the garden - burying nuts all over the lawn and eating all the nuts from the feeders! Your blackberries are early - we have to wait until August/September for ours. I do have some tomatoes and peppers setting though, which is better than last year. Guest guest
My blackberries won't be ready for another few weeks. I planted a thornless variety last year, so this is the first year I'll have a crop -- it's full of fruit! Right now I'm eating raspberries for breakfast and dinner. I eat my fill in the berry patch and then bring home a quart every other day. The yield is about 3-4 times what it's been in past years. The strawberries are also doing much better than ever before. I've seen a black squirrel running out of the strawberry bed a few times this week, though I think the squirrels are more interested in tomatoes so are checking on their progress. Today, besides raspberries and strawberries, I ate the last kohlrabi from my garden. At 5:08 PM +0100 6/13/08, jo wrote: ? Don't mention squirrels.
