Im in Australia, Newcastle and i am involved in the organsing of a camp for climate action on the 10th-15th July. Its 6 days of workshops and direct action against the root causes of climate change. Guest guest Posted June 14, 2008 Report Share Posted June 14, 2008 Well its pouring down at the moment! Its either drought or flood atm! In responcse to Jo, im 23 with a 17 month old son. Im at uni doing psychology but am finding it hard as psychology has a heavy history of animal experimentation so i don't know if i can continue. I don't have to do it myself, but just supporting the experimentation by studying the subject is bothering me. Anyway i do a bit of activism, predominately on Coal and climate change. I live in the worlds largest coal exporting town. I became vegan over a year ago after i had my son. I got told about the bobby calves being slaughtered soon after birth so we can have the milk, and from that day on i couldn't touch the stuff. I read 'the ethics of what we eat' by peter singer and its just solidified by veganism. I guess im actually a freegan as i will eat stuff thats been dumpster dived or otherwise wasted.
