So, with his parents, Mark and Jeanne Zumoff, who used to be food distributors, he has opened Organic Heights, 460 Bergen Street (Fifth Avenue). Enlarge This Image Chester Higgins Jr./The New York Times There are salads, $4.95 to $7.50, including roasted potato and tempeh; sandwiches ($6.95 to $9.95) like a tempeh Reuben; platters of teriyaki tofu with sesame broccoli and brown rice ($9.95); and cookies and pastries. All are made by Korrie Chichester, who worked for Babycakes on the Lower East Side. Mr. Zumoff said that vegan birthday cakes are coming soon, as is delivery in the neighborhood: (718) 622-4303.
