Hi Peter,

you don't distinguish who you mean by critics, but since I was the

one who originally asked about " viable " members, and I'm brand new

here as well, it appears you're including me, so I guess I should

answer.

I didn't think I was being critical of the way the list is run or

of any member. I was just trying to find out how many people are

here because most are quiet. I thought it might elicit some

responses from others besides the core 3-4 people, which it has

done, and I'm glad for that.

I had absolutely zero problem with the core folks, and I said so in

my original post, and even expressed interest in what you 3-4 have

shared (of what I've read thus far). I haven't responded to any of

it because when posts come in frequently, the old ones become old

quicker. I figured that folks might be annoyed if I were to pick up

on a subject posted 87 posts ago because it's old news and they

don't want to search for messages to find out what I'm talking about.

(I'm one who doesn't include the entire post to which I'm replying,

nor do I include the reply to the reply to the reply to the reply,

etc...posted before that one as I know it can be tedious to read if

one is reading the digest).

SOme people have taken the term " viable " perhaps too literally or

too seriously. I put it in quotation marks to attempt to let people

know that I was using it only figuratively. I was merely trying to

distinguish between the number of members given on the home page vs.

the number of members with an address that is still capable of

receiving email from the group & who're still d in some

manner. There was absolutely no insult or sarcasm or anything else

sinister in my head when I used that word.

I used it for lack of a better term at that time (though I'm sure

others will have terms in mind that they would prefer).

As for who or where I am, you know where I live, since I mentioned

it and that is my current reason for being here. If I have already

met others who are also new to the list, I'm aware of their presence

here. Yes, you may call me qweiop, or Blair, as that is my first

name, or anything else. I was a vegetarian for over 25 years before

becoming vegan for the last 9 years. If you have other questions

about me, feel free to ask.

There are lots of lists to join. WHen I join one that is not to my

liking, I just unsub...I don't complain.

I apologize for the disruption.
