depends on when humankind and its antecedents become "aware" enough to go "wow"

and of course it all depends on yer religious beliefs...if yer x-tian then the obvious answer is 6000 yrs ago in the garden of eden....

Is it possible to put an age on a faith ( you said old gods ), I wonder what the oldest faith would be?

Not all, but working on it! The current one is my favorite. He is quite squee.

I'm a Greek polytheist. I'd describe myself more as either syncretic or "intelligently eclectic". I don't really mix 'n' match, just fill holes. :)

What path are you (I'm eclectic and Druid (but not wholly)) and have you seen all the old Doctors? or did you come in on the newer ones? We have just two episodes left this year :-( but they look as though they should be good.

ah peter peter...

if you are x-tian or jewish, then that would have to be angels wouldn't it? angels were created before the universe, so they would have been the first i would gather in that respect if you believe in the garden of eden. tho, hoe much gazing they did is debatable. or dancing on the head of a pin....

but, the real answer is, the fungi from yuggoth...they were the first sentient beings here to stare up at the stars, them and the mi go...

(look it up...)

My sentiments exactly, why should only humans have beleif systems, other creatures might have their own? and who do the dietys believe in ? themselves?

IMO major organised religion appears to be self destructive, and leads to hatred rather than peace & love, and has caused more war and suffering than anything else in history.

But then what do I know, I am a soul less , heathen, brain dead, barnacle on the butt of humanity, so thats o.k.
