Guest guest
I guess my question about B12 is that if God wanted us to eat Vegan why isn't B12 in our plants? I don't get it. I believe God got things right, so what happened? My only guess is that the world changed after the flood, which was when God gave us permission to eat meat. Maybe that was because plants with B12 in them disappeared? Any ideas? Anyway, I take a B12 supplement but don't get why this should be necessary. Is B12 not in ANY plants? Something isn't right there. Shelley H
Guest guest
B12 doesn't come from meat, it comes from the bacteria in meat (and on plants). Check out info on Spirolina. Guest guest
Vitamin B12 is synthesised by bacteria. Meat contains B12 because the animals eat the plants with dirt on them. If humans eat plants with dirt on them they may also get enough B12. Because most of us like to wash our fruit and vegetables before eating we do not get it ~on~ our plants. Guest guest
B12 exists in bacteria in soil, goes to show a little bit of dirt never hurt anyone. So if you are being fastidious scrubbing your root veg ( spuds/carrots etc) your depriving yourself of a potential source of b12.... Guest guest
the vitamin B12 ONLY comes from bacteria. Bacteria produce it as "waste product" we have b12 producing bacteria in our intestines, but they are too far down the GI tract to be absorbed well b12 bacteria exist in the soil (or at least they did. before modern agricultural techniques did a number of the soil ecology) Shelley Jun 29, 2008 11:59 AM Speaking of B12 I guess my question about B12 is that if God wanted us to eat Vegan why isn't B12 in our plants?
