One of my tomato plants has started to wilt at the tips of the stems :-

( They have been watered every day and the other plants are fine. Do

any of you gardeners have an idea what might have caused this?

Is it a pale sickly yellow colour? if so magnesium deficiency, - needs feeding. Sometimes irregular watering will also cause wilting, any signs of pests or disease?sorry to be so vague, could be lots of things, maybe Fraggle will know? he grows "maters"

has it been really hot?

i assume no obvious sign of bugs

are all the branches wilting, or just some?

check the base...is it secure (don't snap it or twist, just gently tug at the base), something might have gotten to the roots

or, you might have a fungal wilt

AFAIK, magnesium defiency will make em stunted and yellow or off colored...dunno about the wilting part.

what are you growing them in?

Too much water! I water mine once every week to 10 days. Usually

tomatoes prefer infrequent deep watering, though one of my neighbors

in the community garden has a drip irrigation system that waters

everything daily for a few minutes and they're doing fine.

Hi Fraggle

I've been away for a long weekend, didn't get back until after dark

last night. I'll have a look this evening to see what is happening

with it, and get back to you.
