Guest guest
Hi, I am westy from Los Angeles, and I thought I'd drop by and say hi. I have been sprouting mung beans for a fresh addition to meals. I have also just acquired a bread machine, which calls for powdered milk in most recipes. Anybody know a way around that one? Just thought I'd ask. Also, anyone know of a trustworthy local seller of organic seeds for sprouting, or how about organic vanilla beans ?? Do most of you prepare your own foods? I am about to try to grow wheatgrass. Nice to be here, westy _______________ Get Windows Live and get whatever you need, wherever you are. Guest guest
Hi Westy Welcome to Vegan Chat. I'm a fan of sprouting and sprouts are supposed to be really good for you. For the bread you could work out how much liquid would be used to make the powdered milk into milk, in the recipe, and then use soya milk instead. If you tried the recipe a few times you could adjust the amounts until you get your own recipe that works. We prepare most of our own food. About once or twice a week, when we are feeling lazy, we use Redwoods products - like sausages or chicken- style bits etc. Jo , Smiles Always <absolutehappiness wrote: > > > Hi, > I am westy from Los Angeles, and I thought I'd drop by and say hi. Guest guest
Hi Westy & welcome! Dont know about powdered milk to liquid ratio, but you may have to cut down on other "wet" ingredients? Sprouts are supposed to be full of b vitamins and enzimes & stuff, so your on to a winner there, as for wheat grass, dead easy to grow, not so nice to taste!!! Guest guest
hello and welcome soy milk is supposed to be a good substitute for bread making. unflavored of course as for vanilla beans, i've gotten organic ones from the bulk herb section at whole foods... last time i got one was about a year ago, so i assume it shouldn't be overly difficult cheers fraggle Smiles Always Aug 6, 2008 3:55 PM New Member From L.A. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.
