Democrats open to more offshore drilling

WASHINGTON - Democrats' stance against offshore drilling shifted more on

Saturday, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi signaling she was willing to consider

opening up more areas off the nation's coastlines to oil and gas exploration.

 

In her party's weekly radio address, Pelosi said opening portions of the Outer

Continental Shelf for drilling would be a part of energy legislation House

Democrats will put forward in coming weeks to address the country's dependence

on foreign oil and high gasoline prices.

 

 

With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first

thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably.
