Guest guest
I'm having a hard time finding ready made vegan pizza crust. Does anyone know where to find this item?
Guest guest
One of our local vegan cooking teachers used to recommend Kabuli bread for pizza crust. I haven't looked for it lately, but I used to see it in Whole Foods and similar stores all the time. It was not refrigerated IIRC. I've also spotted pizza dough at Trader Joe's (refrigerated) and Whole Foods (frozen), probably vegan, but I haven't bought it so I didn't read the labels. It doesn't take much work -- just stretch the dough out on whatever pan you have (cookie sheet, pie pan, etc.), leave it alone for an hour or so, and bake it for 10 minutes, then add toppings and bake. Guest guest
you could always make it yerself and store it in the freezer "maria.cochrane" Aug 21, 2008 11:38 AM vegan pizza crust I'm having a hard time finding ready made vegan pizza crust. Does anyone know where to find this item? With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably. Guest guest
Hi Maria Whereabouts are you based? In the UK, I believe that Pizza Express bases are vegan - the bases they use in their restaurants are definitely vegan, so I assume that the ones they make for personal use are as well - although I've never checked as we tend to make our own bases. As a vaguely interesting aside, I like to use Naan bread mix as a pizza base... but then I do have some strange ideas :-) BB Peter - " maria.cochrane " <maria.cochrane Thursday, August 21, 2008 7:38 PM vegan pizza crust > I'm having a hard time finding ready made vegan pizza crust.
