Longmont-based Earth Balance is the all-natural division of Smart Balance Inc. (Nasdaq: SMBL).Earth Balance produces a line of 14 spreads that are available in organic, vegan and dairy blends in both tub and stick forms. The new vegan nut butter line includes an almond butter, creamy peanut butter and crunchy peanut butter. An added blend of expeller-pressed oils works to keep the nut butters from separating, and flax seeds are added for Omega 3 content. "Whole Foods Market is already home to many of Earth Balance's all-natural products, so we are excited to add to the product mix," said Errol Schweizer, Whole Foods Market associate global grocery coordinator. "The new nut butters are perfect additions to a brand that already strongly resonates with our customers." In 2007, Smart Balance had $175.5 million in net sales. Smart Balance has eight employees in Longmont and two of the eight are with Earth Balance. Peter vvSend instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.
