Guest guest
Thats not a good reason not to support Greenpeace its a better reason to support Sea Shepard but that doesnt mean what Greenpeace do isnt amazing and really helpfull to the earth. Maybe they do carry around meat in there freezers for those of them who eat meat but thats there choice you wouldnt say any of the worlds greatest charities are bad because some of there volenteers eat meat. jo.heartwork <jo.heartwork Sent: Wednesday, 27 August, 2008 10:02:54 PM Fw: good reason not to support Greenpeace > Forwarded from Redditch Vegetarian and Vegan Society>> At our next meeting on Wed 3 Sept we`ll welcome Darren Collis from the Sea > Shepherd Conservation Society. Guest guest
Greenpeace have done some good things, but they also do some not so good things. They are never worried about individual animals, just stopping a species from being made extinct. It is a shame that they feel they are ethical and yet cannot see the non-ethics of eating meat -don't you agree? Guest guest
Hi Theo I think the main reason not to support Greenpeace is because they rarely give any thought to what they are doing, and on a number of occassions have caused more environmental damage as a result of their actions than they have done good. The classic example being the oil rig which they decided to chain themselves to, because the company wanted to leave it abandoned once it had finished it's useful life. Greenpeace made a big meal of how bad this was, and the company was forced to break it up, releasing thousands of tons of asbestos into the surrounding sea! They are also species-ist, being quite happy to kill individual creatures to protect another species. And regardless, how can you possibly say you're an environmental organisation while actively funding the industry which produces 80% of greenhouse gasses by purchasing meat products?
