Guest guest
Help! For the first time in a very long time, we are being attacked here in Maryland by Mosquitoes IN OUR HOUSE. I wake up covered with bites. What are some NATURAL ways to drive them off without me having to spray poison around the place to call these buggers off?? Losing my mind, I am. And, I do not want to hear about things that may or may not work, but things that actually work. In the house, not outside. Snarling, but not into poison… Cyn

Guest guest
Mosquito netting. When I was car camping across the country, one night I was near a lake with mosquitoes. I slept in the car with the windows partly open, put some essential oil of lavender on my skin (a little is safe, but don't overdo it), and got no bites. I think it worked partly because it was a small space, so a little bit of lavender filled the whole space. Talk to them. Years ago I read a book by Michael Roads, who wanted a garden on the land he'd bought in Australia but was told the wallabies/kangaroos eat everything. So he had a talk with them, said everything outside the fence is yours, inside is mine, otherwise I'll go after you. It worked. When he sold the land, he told the new owners that they had to make a pact with the critters if they wanted a garden, they thought he was bonkers, so the garden was overrun. Around the time I read this book, I lived in an apartment once that had cockroaches, so I made an agreement with them, and it worked. At 11:37 PM -0400 8/29/08, CKG wrote: Help! Guest guest
This is so interesting. I have made a similar pact with the huge spiders who live outside of my home. I told them they could stay as long as their webs don't block access to our doors or be anywhere where I would walk into them on accident (or inside of our home). The next day the web was gone and the spider rebuilt this giant web that is just above my head level. I walk under it ever day to feed some feral cats in my back yard. The other one covers a side of our porch without getting in the way of our path or the door. I should take a picture of them. It's amazing. Before that they were building webs that blocked both of our front and back doors and it was so gross to walk through them all the time. Guest guest
Hi Cyn I've found that Lavendar works exceptionally well. I usually use a bit of diluted lavendar essential oil - just a couple of dabs in strategic places normally does it! BB Peter - CKG Saturday, August 30, 2008 4:37 AM Mosquitoes!!!!! Help! You'll probably be responsible for less animal deaths if you simply nuke the whole area where the mosquitos are causing a problem! Guest guest
It is easier to have old rags or even recycled kitchen towel strips with a few drops of lavendar, and maybe some peppermint and thyme essential oil on them, and hand them by open windows.
