World’s Largest Animal Rights Organization Gives GLYDE Condoms Seal of Approval

Ever used a veggie condom? The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals apparently do not see vegan-latex condoms as a laughing matter. In fact, Kare Kits, Inc., the distributor for GLYDE condoms, racked up another award by becoming the first condom brand to ever be awarded with PETA’s cruelty-free certification.

“It's not difficult for companies to adopt environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing processes, and GLYDE is the latest brand to prove it," said Dietrich Pajonk, President of Kare Kits, Inc., earlier this week in a GLYDE press release.

The GLYDE brand proves it by making condoms without dairy-derived casein that is an agent commonly found in condoms. The makers of GLYDE do not just respect the animals though; they respect their fellow man. The condoms are made in Malaysia by workers who are paid a living salary. The condom production is sweatshop-free.

The Vancouver-based Kare Kits, Inc. also received an award earlier this year from the UK-based Vegan Society. The Vegan Society, which encourages companies to engage in cruelty-free research for their products, awarded GLYDE’s products for being “100 percent animal-free.â€

"It's so easy for companies to market their products as vegan, organic, or cruelty-free,†Pajonk said. “But when shoppers see the PETA or Vegan Society logos, they know they're getting a truly ethical product."

With the nonuse of sweat shops or harming of animals, what more can the public ask of big business?
