Guest guest
I'm a disorganized gardener too. I have " sections " but not necesarily in rows. I'm not a fan of some of my neighbors's perfectly manicured lawns. I like the way group of flowers lays over or on top of the other or when different colors play on or complement each other. However, some uncontrolled gardens take a lot of work also. , " heartwerk " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > I have a friend who does that too, and it works for her. > > Jo > > >
Guest guest
It sounds lovely. I don't like a regimented garden. Although I don't grow many vegetables yet, I do have plenty of flowers and flowering shrubs, also several enormous trees. We have arranged the garden so that we have a 'secret' section at the end. You have to walk under an archway cut between two tall trees to get there. Jo - flower child Wednesday, October 15, 2008 1:04 AM Re: Vegetable garden I'm a disorganized gardener too. Guest guest
I love in love with nature. Even though.. Even though in the city I get my energy from the people and my friends..fast walking and bumping into people and I there is something empowering about modernity, order and structure. a controlled atmosphere. The predictability of the smooth surface of a building. I want to just get lost in the woods and live and breath the earth become a tree. become dirt. by nature I mean the earth as it used to be with as little disturbance of its natural balance by man as possible. these days it is becoming harder to find this and I am afraid we will soon forget what is nature suppose to look like. I have a tremendous bouganvillea bush with disturbs my neighbors greatly because it is nature out of control. It is huge. just once I would like to let it have the freedom to just be and grow as big as it wants and as big as it was meant to be. some people find it disturbing to find a plant somewhere(weed most likely) that they didn't plant themselves.. how dare it grow there without my permission. Sometimes its ok to just let things be.. to let thing get out of hand in a small garden might be unrealistic.. things will take over.. however, in my garden a have a small space... a corner... where the weeds can just GROW WILD!!!!! and just be themselves and I will never kill them as long as I live. I am telling them that they have the right to exist too.. they needn't be beautiful or valuable to me or to other humans.. they can to just be. Sometimes I sleep on the grass in my backyard and I look at the stars and then I yell out.. GOD WHERE ARE YOU!!! If you exist give me a sign.. Then I am overtaken by the beauty of the stars and I forget about asking anymore. anouk , " jo.heartwork " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > It sounds lovely. I don't like a regimented garden. Guest guest
I know how you feel. I enjoy going to town for a day, or two, seeing the sights etc. but I start to miss the trees and grass. I like weeds, well most of them. We don't pick them out of our lawn, which is full of dandelions, daisies, clover etc. It looks pretty. Our 'secret' garden is almost wild - we mow enough to be able to walk in it, and sit, but that is all.
