the first time we ever did seitan from scratch, we messed something up...it was like chewing a balloon....

ah well..we ate it anyways, as those were my dumpster diving days, and no food was to be wasted..ever.....

That's my favorite and I make it all the time. Very simple. Wrap it up tight in the foil or it might extrude out the ends and look rather, er, strange. Tastes great and nice mouth feel. Blake

You may also be interested in the black t-shirt that says

" Praise Seitan " in gothic script with a red pentacle in the

background.

I saw it in the film Seeing through the Fence.

Synopsis of film:

Through a series of humorous and poignant interviews conducted

across

the US and in Greece with " random people, " the

documentarian's family,

and activists, " Seeing through the Fence " explores attitudes

about the

role of food in modern society and our connection, or lack of

connection, with both the processes and animals from which our

food

originates, asking the question, " What prevents ethical

principles from

being advanced to action? "
