Guest guest
Oh dear - you could have had half of ours - we would still have had enough. Maybe the snow fairies will help :-) BB Jo , " Peter " <metalscarab wrote: > > Hi Jo > > Only a pathetic smattering. About an inch deep. Guest guest
That's enough to play in then :-) It is very dodgy - especially on the paths. Our roads are still bad. Guest guest
Well .... we have a few snow ploughs apparently - although I've only ever seen one, and that was on a motorway. Apparently our local hospital had the army out to clear their car park for them. We have salt trucks, but they do only the main roads, not the side roads. The road near us is an A road and that didn't appear to have been salted, as there is still snow and slush on it. Guest guest
Our snow has gone from the lawn at last. There are still mounds of it where people cleared it, but it is good to see the grass again. There were loads of accidents locally this morning though because there was so much ice around! Guest guest
I slipped and fell over on ice yesterday morning, must have looked quite funny, if only I had a camera I could have sent the footage in to telivision and earned some money........ Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you didn't hurt yourself. It's slippery again this morning with ice all over the place. Guest guest
Hi Jo, I saw the London weather in the news. The snow looked pretty. We had a frost last week. It was awful. Every single one of my baby tomato plants died. Some of them had flowers. The temperature went into the 30's overnight. Now I have to start all over. The weather is tricky is tricky today it is in the 80's. , " jo.heartwork " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > Our snow has gone from the lawn at last. Guest guest
HI Anouk It is so frustrating when the frost gets your plants. We never quite know when our last frost will be. 30 years ago we got frosts into the first week of June, and then again from the first week of September (we are on a north-facing slope). Over the years it changed to being sometimes only a few frosts per winter. Last year we had early and late frosts again, and this year we have had frost (or snow) most of the winter. It's always so hard to judge when to do things in the garden. I hope your new tomato plants are successful. Guest guest
Gutted for you, its so frustrating when frost gets to your tender plants. Try saving up all the bubble wrap you can find, and cover them with it?
